সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় (MOCA)

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs (MoCA) (সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়) is a cabinet-level ministry of the Government of Bangladesh. It is the apex government body responsible for preserving, promoting, and developing the nation’s rich cultural heritage, language, literature, fine arts, and traditional history.

Operating out of the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka, the ministry plays a central role in fostering a diverse and inclusive cultural environment that reflects the true identity of the nation.

• Cultural Preservation: Protecting, researching, and maintaining historical artifacts, monuments, and archaeological sites across Bangladesh.

• Promotion of Arts & Literature: Cultivating and supporting performing arts, music, fine arts, drama, and literature through national academies and grants.

• Language & Heritage: Promoting the spirit of the 1952 Language Movement and the 1971 Liberation War, while nurturing the diverse languages and traditions of Bangladesh’s various ethnic minorities.

• National Recognition: Administering the prestigious Ekushey Padak (the second-highest civilian award in Bangladesh) to individuals who make outstanding contributions to culture, literature, education, and arts.

• International Exchange: Organizing cross-cultural exchange programs with foreign countries to project Bangladeshi culture globally.
